Every $250 you spend on your GlobalPlus Platinum or Business Visa card will earn you one Status Point. Plus every Air New Zealand Flight* and many Star Alliance flights you catch can also earn you Status Points

But to be eligible for a tier status change from Jade to Silver, from Silver to Gold or to maintain your current status (if you are a Silver or Gold Member), half the Status Points required need to come from Air New Zealand Flights or Star Alliance partner flights. To be eligible for a tier status change from Gold to Gold Elite, 900 Status Points need to come from taking Air New Zealand Flights. To maintain your current Gold Elite tier status, 810 Status Points need to come from taking Air New Zealand Flights.
