Switch from another BNZ personal credit card to GlobalPlus
So you've decided you're more of a GlobalPlus person. No worries, Marco Polo. You can switch to GlobalPlus by completing a Switch Request Form. Click here for the GlobalPlus and GlobalPlus Gold form (PDF 107kb). Click here for the GlobalPlus Platinum form (PDF 289kb) or Click here for the GlobalPlus Business form (PDF 784Kb).
- If you have a printer, print the form and send it to us at the address shown
- If you can't print the form, call us on 0800 4321 46 and ask us to send you one or visit any BNZ store.
Once your switch is approved, your existing BNZ account will be closed and any outstanding balance transferred to your new GlobalPlus card. A few things to remember:
- Switching to GlobalPlus is subject to approval.
- Your outstanding balance on your existing card, plus any transactions that haven't made it onto your statement when you apply, will be transferred to your new GlobalPlus card as one lump sum. The Terms and Conditions of your new GlobalPlus card, including the relevant interest rates, fees (excluding those charged prior to the transfer date), reward programme and charges are effective from the closing date of your existing BNZ credit card's final statement and not the transfer date (subject to any third party policies or Terms and Conditions). This means that they will apply to:
- The outstanding balance from the closing date of your existing BNZ credit card's final statement; and
- Transactions that hadn't appeared on your statement when you applied to switch, as if they had been made using your new GlobalPlus credit card.
- You won't earn Airpoints Dollars™ on balances transferred from your existing BNZ card to GlobalPlus. We will determine on a case-by-case basis what happens to any Platinum rewards points you have when you switch. Airpoints Dollars (but not other loyalty points for other loyalty programmes relating to your existing card) will be earnt on any transactions you've made since the closing date of your existing credit card's final statement.
- You'll still need to pay any account statements you receive or have received while your account is being transferred.
- If you have, or will activate GlobalPlus Gold Travel Insurance for any future travel, your GlobalPlus Gold Travel insurance will apply rather than your GlobalPlus Platinum Visa Travel Insurance Policy.
- When approved, you will also need to change any existing arrangements such as Automatic Payments, Direct Debits, Bill Payments and any regular purchases you have on your existing card to your new card.
- You will also need to pop into your nearest BNZ store to reload your PIN.
